This is part of an NBCC Visions series introducing board certified counselors to NBCC employees and their work. Tammi Lee is Interim Vice President of CCE and Business Services & Partnerships.
When did you begin working with NBCC and how did you arrive?
I began my journey with the Center for Credentialing & Education (CCE), an affiliate of NBCC, in May 2013 as an application reviewer. In this role, I reviewed and processed the educational equivalency applications for South Carolina, Colorado, and Iowa, our contracted clients.
What is your role with NBCC?
I am presently the Interim Vice President of the CCE and Business Services & Partnerships division, which oversees our state agency services, contracted management services, business development, government and legislative affairs, and international business services.
What do you enjoy about your work with NBCC?
I love interacting with the state boards. Listening to the needs of the boards and learning the regulatory side of each state gives me a greater understanding of what CCE and our various departments can do to assist. Building a strong relationship with the board offices is vital for the success of this division.
What are your interests outside of NBCC?
I’m close to completing my MBA program, so between work and school, I have very little time to do anything else. When I do find spare time, I enjoy going to a movie or just relaxing at home bingeing on Lifetime movies.
Who is someone you look up to in the field and why?
I don’t have one person specifically that I look up to because I admire all those who have chosen this profession. It takes heart and a genuine concern for others, which is invaluable. I am thankful my responsibilities in CCE allow me to play a small role in the licensure process.
