Becoming board certified is an important step in your development as a professional counselor. If you are a student in a participating program, you have a unique opportunity to begin the application process prior to graduation. Note that you cannot identify yourself as board certified or use the certification mark until you graduate and satisfy all requirements. NBCC provides official written notification of your completion of requirements. For details, please review the requirements, information about the NCE or the NCMHCE, and benefits of board certification. You may also want to review a list of examination preparation guides.
Confused about the difference between board certification and licensure?
NBCC has created a special process that offers a number of benefits to those who start the application before they graduate:
The student application process begins with your campus coordinator. They will have detailed information on how to apply as a graduate student. If your school does not have a campus coordinator, email email@example.com.
