For many of us, the beginning of a new year represents a fresh start—a time when we set goals and take the necessary steps toward achieving them. If exploring career opportunities for yourself or adding new employees to your practice is on your list for 2022, you’ll want to add the NBCC Foundation’s upcoming virtual career fair to your calendar.
Counseling Foundations: Your Path to Career Success will take place online on Feb. 17, 2022, from noon–4 pm EST. Attendee registration for this unique and free opportunity is open until Feb. 14, and space is limited. Employers looking to hire qualified counselors can secure their virtual booth to interview job seekers—or become an event sponsor for even more visibility—until Feb. 3. The career fair has a special focus on connecting counselors passionate about serving traditionally underserved populations with employers who share that passion and focus.
Whether you’re a recent graduate or a seasoned counseling professional, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with employers from the comfort of your home or office, share your résumé, and engage in one-on-one text and video chats. You’ll also build your professional network and have access to on-demand professional development webinars to help you prepare.
Employers and sponsors can personalize their virtual booth, gain extra marketing recognition, and interview attendees using either drop-in hours or scheduled chat appointments. This year, employers can review attendee résumés in advance and personally invite job seekers to visit their booth.
Through its affiliation with NBCC, the Foundation is connected to over 67,000 counselors, practitioners, and counseling students and will utilize this career fair to introduce those talented individuals to employers seeking to expand their organizations’ talent pipelines.
In keeping with the NBCC Foundation’s mission to provide equitable and accessible mental health services to those in need and NBCC’s mission to advance the profession of counseling, the career fair will be especially devoted to providing opportunities for counselors and employers committed to serving traditionally underserved and never-served communities.
Many former and current members of the NBCC Foundation’s Minority Fellowship Program will be in attendance. These counseling professionals have engaged in education and professional development specifically designed to prepare them to work in communities where the need for mental health services is greatest.
“We are very excited to be offering the virtual career fair again,” says Catherine Clifton, NBCC’s Director of Professional Resources. “It’s a fantastic opportunity for employers and sponsors to find the next great member of their team and for counselors to move forward on their individual paths to career success.”
Registration information is available on the NBCC Foundation’s website. If you have questions about this event, please email us. We look forward to seeing you online!
