National Certified Counselors (NCCs) must meet professionally defined standards in education and experience in order to become board certified. By choosing an NCC, you can be confident that your counselor continues to meet the criteria for continuing education and conduct standards, important components to the provision of mental health care. Look for the NCC or National Certified Counselor certification mark, an indicator of qualification and commitment in a professional counselor.
