NBCC is partnering with the National Council for Behavioral Health (NCBH) for the annual Hill Day in Washington D.C., which allows mental health professionals, including counselors, to visit their senators’ and representatives’ offices and make their voices heard on public policy. This year’s Hill Day will be Sept. 17–18.
NCBH’s list of legislative priorities includes H.R. 945/S. 286, the Mental Health Access Improvement Act, which would allow mental health counselors to bill Medicare. NBCC is a partner organization for NCBH’s Hill Day, and we would like to encourage all board certified counselors to attend.
NCBH has been a member of NBCC’s Medicare coalition for years and would like to make sure as many counselors as possible are there to push for Medicare recognition. If you plan to attend, be sure to register for the event and book your hotel room at the Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill at a special discounted rate.
