The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) is requesting feedback from health care providers on two key scoring criteria they use to develop agency policies. The Health Professional Shortage Area program allows HRSA to provide additional funds and National Health Service Corps resources to areas that are lacking providers of key services, including mental health. More information on this request from HRSA, including how to submit comments, can be found on their website.
HRSA is also seeking feedback on how to improve their Maternity Care Professional Target Area program, which provides resources for areas lacking sufficient maternity care, including mental health services. This is an opportunity for board certified counselors to express the importance of mental health counseling services in HRSA’s programs. If you have any questions about these opportunities to submit comments, contact govtaffairs@nbcc.org.
