When did you begin working with NBCC, and how did you arrive?
I started with NBCC in 2010; my family had recently moved to the Triad from Columbus, Ohio, and at the time I was staying home with our two young children. I was hired through a temp agency to be a Customer Service Representative and moved to full-time employment in August of 2010. Shortly after that, a reviewer position opened up, and I applied for that and was accepted. I have been an Application Reviewer/Specialist since that time.
What is your role with NBCC?
I am an Application Specialist—I review applications primarily for CACREP and regionally accredited applicants, and I was the subject matter expert for the MAC application. I have also been the lead score verification person since 2012.
What do you enjoy about your work with NBCC?
I enjoy working with an awesome group of people and responding as a team to the challenges that we are presented with.
What are your interests outside of NBCC?
I enjoy reading, camping, disc golf, getting together with friends for cookouts, and anything that my kids are into, since I am their chauffeur.
Who is someone you look up to in the field and why?
With the climate of change that has gripped the world since COVID-19, I look up to those who are trying to steer humanity back to normal. Counselors have been at the forefront of that movement, and I respect those who are making a difference through the mental health professions.
