For nearly 20 years through its Global Capacity Building Department, the NBCC Foundation’s Counseling Resource Collection has helped organizations and universities in other countries to build resource libraries accessible to counseling students and professionals. By donating counseling-related books and journals, you can help empower individuals who otherwise may not have access to current educational materials.
“The book donation program was one of the first international capacity-building programs created at NBCC,” said Dr. Wendi Schweiger-Moore, Director of Global Capacity Building. “It came about because we heard from many colleagues outside of the U.S. that counseling resources were difficult to find and prohibitively expensive. Since 2003, NCCs and other counselors have been very generous in donating gently used books and journals that have then been sent to organizations and counseling training programs around the world to increase access to high-quality professional counseling and mental health literature.”
The NBCC Foundation proudly supports this project by contributing to the cost of shipping these materials to their destinations. Books have been sent to countries around the world, including Bhutan, Cambodia, Kenya, Malawi, Romania, Uganda, and Zambia.
Please consider showing your support for your international colleagues and joining us in this effort by sending gently used counseling-related books and journals published after 2005 to:
