In the wake of the current global pandemic, we have all made adjustments. Although some have been difficult, others have led to positive opportunities. Our readers may have noticed that in the past few months, our newsletter has looked a little different. We’ve refocused and dedicated our newsletter to providing resources, looking to our qualified board certified counselors to share their experiences, tips, and helpful tools. What we found is that the work that was shared has been incredibly well received. Not only are people enjoying having access to this content, but they also like having a place to share their own expertise.
We want to continue highlighting the work of our board certified counselors—their successes, challenges, questions, and advice for others in the profession. Going forward, you’ll see a section of the newsletter, Counseling Confab, dedicated to board certified counselor guest writers. Although these articles will not provide continuing education clock hours, we hope these stories will pique your interest in a new modality to study, provide practical tools to use in sessions, or strengthen your confidence in working with different populations.
Those interested in contributing should email newsletter@nbcc.org with their concept for review. The structure of the articles that we will feature is flexible, and we hope that writers are able to highlight their work and construct their stories in a way that speaks to their strengths.
