NBCC’s Work Analysis Validation Survey for Professional Counselors is the tool that firmly links the examinations to assess professional knowledge with the daily professional practice of counselors. The data gathered through the survey informs assessment development, advocacy efforts, certification program design, and more.
To collect comprehensive data, counselors in all career stages, including graduate students in counselor education programs, are invited to complete this confidential survey. The survey takes approximately 25–30 minutes to complete, with an option to complete additional questions.
Counselors can earn 4.5 continuing education hours for free by completing the survey, reading provided supplemental articles, and taking a short assessment.
“Participating in the work analysis validation survey is an opportunity to have nationwide impact on the counseling profession by providing a space to share your experiences,” says Unber Ahmad, PhD, MStat, ICE-CCP, Director of Assessments and Lead Psychometrician at NBCC. “This survey is the foundation for our examinations, which serve to safeguard the profession; advocacy efforts; and various other avenues that advance the counseling profession.
