Welcome! CounselorFind is a unique website created to help the public find a professional counselor who holds the National Certified Counselor (NCC) credential. Only those NCCs who accept referrals are listed through CounselorFind.
What does the NCC mean to the public?
NCCs are counselors who:
- Meet high standards of education and experience;
- Have taken and passed a rigorous national examination;
- Keep up their skills through continuing education; and
- Believe in the NBCC Code of Ethics as it guides their practice
The letters you see after a counselor’s name represent credentials that they currently hold with NBCC. See below for a list of what each one means.
| NCC | National Certified Counselor (the general counseling credential required for all the others) |
| NCSC | National Certified School Counselor |
| CCMHC | Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor |
| MAC | Master Addictions Counselor |
| NCGC | National Certified Gerontological Counselor |
| NCCC | National Certified Career Counselor |
