NBCC continues its unwavering commitment to quality assurance, standards of practice and globalization of counseling. Over the last three decades, we have witnessed continued growth in both the prominence and recognition of the counseling profession.

While the requirements to be a professional counselor vary from continent to continent and there is much diversity in where counselors work and how they are trained, one common pursuit unites us: Counselors all over the world are dedicated to helping our fellow humans. As our professionalism increases, our reach expands.

I challenge each of you to participate in the expansion of the counseling profession, both locally and globally. Get involved! Volunteer with your state or national organizations and NGOs. Don’t use vacation in a foreign location to explore counseling. Go do it!
