The National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) owns and maintains two examinations that are used for both national certification and state licensure purposes:
If you are an applicant or current or former National Certified Counselor (NCC), you will need to submit a request through our online store to have your examination scores sent to a third party. If you are an applicant, NBCC must first have received and verified a copy of your final, official transcript. Your score report will also verify your current certification status. Some limitations apply.
If you are not an applicant or current or former NCC, please download a score verification request form from the Center for Credentialing & Education. You will find a link to the form under the “for the professional” heading on the home page.
Score verification requests are completed in approximately four weeks from the date your payment clears. Missing documents, such as an official transcript showing conferral of your master’s degree, pending ethics matters, or unpaid past-due fees, will delay the processing of your scores.
Express score verifications are also available.
