The National Certified School Counselor (NCSC)

The application requirements for the National Certified School Counselor (NCSC) specialty certification are currently under review, and this application is unavailable until further notice. The benefits of certification as a National Certified School Counselor (NCSC) include use of the NCSC certification mark and recognition as a professional who has met high national standards for the practice of school counseling. Some states and school systems offer salary incentives for NCSCs. (Contact your local school system for more information.)

More than 2,800 school counselors are certified as NCSCs, and show their commitment to the school counseling profession and to providing high-quality services to students, parents, teachers and the community.

Recertification

Once you complete the application process, you will need to meet ongoing requirements in order to maintain and recertify your NCSC.
