MAC Recertification

Approved Continuing Education Content Areas for Recertification of the Master Addictions Counselor (MAC) Credential

 
In order to maintain the MAC credential, counselors are required to maintain the NCC credential. In order to recertify the MAC credential, 25 percent of the 100 hours required for the NCC must relate directly to the seven content areas listed below:
 

1. Drug Information and Terminology

2. Theories of Addictions

3. Medical & Psychosocial Aspects of Addictions

4. Addictions Assessment

5. Issues in Treatment of Addictions

6. Addictions Group Counseling

7. Family Addictions Counseling
