Choosing a Method of Contact If you need to contact us, we recommend you do so in writing (email, mail, or FAX) for two reasons. It helps to protect your privacy. We cannot verify receipt of an application or provide the status of an application over the phone. We receive more than 350 calls on an average day. Calls are returned in the order in which they are received.
We have tried to provide as much information as possible in the application packet and on this website. If you have a question, please review the entire material carefully one more time. The answer may be located in a different section of the material than where you first expected to find it. If you still need to contact us, please provide full identification and specific information related to your question. When sending any correspondence, please remember to ALWAYS include:

No personal information can be given over the phone. This would violate our privacy policy which is in place to protect your confidential information.
NBCC does not give out examination or review results over the phone.

WHO: This is for members of the news media who would like to find out more about the counseling profession and counseling certification or to interview National Certified Counselors (NCCs) about counseling matters.
WHAT: Call or email us with your questions or requests to interview a counselor(s), and we will do our best to help you.
Our switchboard receives approximately 350 phone calls and 500 emails daily, but we understand news deadlines and will try our best to meet your requirements.
WHERE: We are located in Greensboro, North Carolina, USA, on Eastern Time, so please keep that in mind when calling.
WHEN: 8:30a.m.-5:00p.m. We will take your calls anytime but giving us as much notice as possible and specific background information about your "angle" or story idea will help us do a better job of finding you the best people with whom to talk.
